Grady Kelneck was almost born on the stage, his singer/drummer mother rushed right from a gig to the hospital in labour. Brought up in a show biz family, Grady spent his childhood and adolescence playing in a band with mother, father, and brother. One of his earliest musical memories is singing in front of 20,000 people for Toronto’s 150th birthday at City Hall. His grandfather is a musical legend in the Ontario north, Stompin Tom Connors even penning a song after him. His latest effort, Take My Hand, produced by Toronto music mainstay Aaron Comeau, is a collection of self-penned raw ballads - wide open spaces and smooth sailing vocals accompanied by intricate acoustic guitar picking and backed by a band. A beautiful thriller that has more elements of mystery and romance than of the thriller that revolves around an auctioneer who has an insane collection of paintings of women. Tornatore manages to portray this lonely man in a perfect manner, even a bit too exaggerated towards the extent of that loneliness as well as the overall plot is a little bit confusing in terms of how the plan is carried out at the end, and how everything gets screwed over so suddenly and so painfully. Still, this film has gorgeous work of art and a spectacular art direction, it has Geoffrey Rush giving a nice performance: strong and emotional, and it keeps your interest, even if it's 2 hours long, and that is something to applaud. Progressive Rock | Pinnacle/Everything To Excess #837101153539

Pinnacle's second CD is a quantum leap above the first. This is melodic Progressive Rock having musical hooks and natural sounding time changes. In 1997, guitarist/synth player Karl Eisenhart and drummer Greg Jones met in an East Pennsylvania coffee house where Karl was playing an acoustic gig. After clicking personally and musically, they began playing together and performing, first as Dread Pirate Roberts and then Landslide. By 2002 they draft bassist/multi instrumentalist Bill Fox and the trio begin covering progressive staples by Tull, Rush, Yes as well as the Police. Their 2002 debut, 'A Man's Reach', does show influence from each of the aforementioned artists, particularly the song-oriented periods of Rush, Police and Tull, covering 'Minstrel in the Gallery' with mixed results. Their follow-up ['Meld', 2006] was a marked move forward, showing a more sophisticated writing approach that reminds of Tiles and Texas legends Hands...

Dean Martin was an American singer, film actor, television star and comedian. One of the most popular and enduring American entertainers of the mid-20th Century, Martin was nicknamed the "King of Cool" due to his seemingly effortless charisma and self-assuredness. A member of the "Rat Pack," Martin was a major star in four areas of show business: concert stage/night clubs, recordings, motion pictures, and television. He was the host of the successful television variety program The Dean Martin Show (1965-1974), and subsequently The Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts (1974-1985). Martin's relaxed, warbling crooning voice earned him dozens of hit singles. This collection contains all of the LPs in the Reprise catalog. Details

Dave Brubeck: Vocal Encounters
Label: Sony 2001 | MP3 320Kbps | Time 57:00 | 124 MB
Style: Jazz/Straight-Ahead/Mainstream/Bop/Hard Bop/Cool

Dave and Iola Brubeck wrote most of the songs on this vocal compilation, including excerpts from their show The Real Ambassadors. Culled from several early 1960s releases, each selection features a singer or singers. Two previously unreleased tracks are included: a take of “It’s A Raggy Waltz” with Carmen McRae and an arrangement of “Autumn In Our Town” with whispery singer Ranny Sinclair. The refreshing “Raggy Waltz” works well as a vocal number, while “Autumn In Our Town” proves to be much less effective. The combination of Sinclair’s pure, young and innocent voice alongside harsher pickups of guitar and piano creates problems. Details
