The fact that they, like so many late-'60s contemporaries, were molded in the image of Cream has often been cited to diminish the stature of Irish power trio Taste. But, all things being equal, it's impossible to dismiss their fine eponymous debut based solely on obvious source of inspiration, nor, by any means, the singular talents of the band's creative and performing focal point, vocalist and guitarist Rory Gallagher - barely 20 years of age upon its release in 1969.

On September 18, 2015, Eagle Rock Entertainment released What’s Going On – Live At The Isle Of Wight Festival 1970 by Taste. This simultaneous release on DVD, Blu-ray, 2LP, CD, and Digital Formats represents the first-ever video release of this legendary performance. What’s Going On – Live At The Isle Of Wight Festival tells the story of Eire’s seminal rock band Taste. Formed in Cork, Ireland in 1966 by Rory Gallagher, Taste had a brief but influential career, releasing two studio albums in 1969 and 1970 and disbanding shortly after their legendary appearance at the 1970 Isle Of Wight Festival — the centerpiece of this film...

A well-chosen retrospective, mostly drawn from the band's two studio albums. Not in the upper echelon of British blues, but not far from that level either, showing Rory Gallagher capable of a wider compositional and interpretive range than some listeners may recall.

Genre: Fusion

Despite the title, this release is more subdued than its predecessors on the shelves, more tightly controlled, more conventional in instrumentation. Jean-Luc Ponty temporarily pulls back on electronic display for its own sake, even permitting some acoustic instruments to take the fore, and the recorded sound is drier and less lustrous.

We have just discovered a new shining star in the bright Progressive rock universe, a comet named Philippe LUTTUN, whose forthoming arrival should make a deep impact ! This amazing French multi-instrumentalist offers today a cinematic concept-album inspired by Chernobyl's nuclear disaster that happened April 26th 1986, from its causes to its most terrific consequences. This is not for all audiences ! Published in the year 2014 on the Musea Parallèle label, "The Taste Of Wormwood - Voices From Chernobyl" displays eight grandiose tracks, entirely performed by Philippe Luttun, only helped by a female singer here and there. One could be reminded of Pink Floyd, Clearlight, Porcupine Tree, Liquid Tension Experiment or Pulsar, these influences being perfectly assimilated and remixed, often completed by slavic (The action takes place in the U.S.S.R.) or electro touches. In the end, there's no other way than admitting that the word "masterpiece" has been tailor-made for this album!
