Death Metal | Label : F.D.A. Rekotz

Chapel Of Disease have caused quite a stir on the death metal scene recently. Approaching from a purely old school angle, their debut album Summoning Black Gods was a refreshing burst of inspiration in an otherwise stagnant scene. Floundering on its past glories and struggling to find a way forward, the death metal scene needed a short sharp shock and it looks likely that Chapel Of Disease may well have given it. Of course this could could have been a one off and their follow up may just be another death metal album. Except it’s not and in The Mysterious Ways Of Repetitive Art the band may well have defined what death metal can be for a new generation. Still chock full of old school riffs and growling vocals and blast beats it also has a sense of experimentation and resolve about it that is not unlike Carcass’ work on Heartwork. It is music which seeks to expand on a previous palette whilst keeping purely in genre conventions.

How to Make a Tornado: The Strange and Wonderful Things That Happen When Scientists Break Free by New Scientist
English | 2009 | ISBN: 1846682878 | 240 Pages | PDF | 17 MB

This is the newest title in the brilliant and bestselling "New Scientist" series. Science tells us grand things about the universe: how fast light travels, and why stones fall to earth. But scientific endeavor goes far beyond these obvious foundations. There are some fields we don't often hear about because they are so specialized, or turn out to be dead ends. Yet researchers have given hallucinogenic drugs to blind people (seriously), tried to weigh the soul as it departs the body and planned to blast a new Panama Canal with atomic weapons. Details

An old and forgotten game develops magical powers in this fantasy for the whole family. Twelve-year-old Walter Budwing (Josh Hutcherson) and his younger brother, Danny (Jonah Bobo), figure they're going to be in for a boring time when their father (Tim Robbins), who was supposed to spend the day with them, is suddenly called away on business, and gives them strict orders not to leave the house. Walter, who doesn't have much use for Danny, is motivated by boredom more than anything else when he agrees to play a board game Danny has found in the basement during a round of hide-and-seek. However, the boys quickly discover the space-themed game Zathura has some unusual qualities -- a roll of the dice unexpectedly launches the Budwing home into outer space, and Walter and Danny are suddenly fending off menacing robots, angry aliens, and showers of interstellar debris outside the Earth's atmosphere. As the boys try to figure out a way back home, they get some unexpected help from an earthling astronaut (Dax Shepard) who has also lost his way. Details
