Trading Snakeoil for Wolftickets was a 2001 album release by Gary Jules under the Sanctuary Records label. Despite the year of release, the album took a long time to reach the charts in both the UK and USA; it reached both the UK Top 40 and Billboard 200 charts in 2004. The highly popular Tears for Fears cover ‘Mad World,’ which was also featured on the Donnie Darko soundtrack and in the Gears of War trailer, is the last song listed on the album. Details

Genre: Jazz, bass-piano duo | Label: Pirouet (3041) | Year: 2009

New Yorker Marc Copland, one of the most under-rated modern pianists, is no stranger to these shores. Bassist Gary Peacock, on the other hand, is a jazz superstar, better known for his role in the Keith Jarrett trio. But these musicians are perfectly matched, and Peacock particularly revels in the freedom of the duo setting, where the bass assumes a different and more central role in the melodic content of the music. With Copland a consummate accompanist, there is plenty of opportunity to admire the gorgeousness of the great bassist's sound and the connection between these two fine musicians.

Why be a jack of all trades when you can be a master of one? It is this sentiment and reason why we have searched high and low for the most sensitive, beautiful, sonorous, and honest piano sound. Perfect for those delicate ballads (think "Mad World" by Gary Jules) that intimate heart rendering cue (think Newman's "American Beauty"). Details

Perfect for those delicate ballads (think "Mad World" by Gary Jules) that intimate heart rendering cue (think Newman's "American Beauty"). When carrying out sampling experiments some years ago we discovered the very beautiful world of an upright piano with a middle "practice felt" or "celeste" pedal engaged. Details

Filmed at least nine times over the last nine decades, Jules Verne's Mysterious Island received its most popular picturization in the hands of producer Charles Schneer, director Cy Endfield and special-effects maestro Ray Harryhausen. During the Civil War, several P.O.W.s led by Gary Merrill escape from a southern stockade in a huge observation balloon. Buffeted about by a violent storm, the balloon lands on an unchartered island somewhere near New Zealand. The fugitives soon discover that this is no ordinary desert isle, especially after being attacked by a giant-sized crab.
