Warren Ellis headlines this post-Ultimatum relaunch of Iron Man in Marvel's Ultimate Comics universe, and does so with his usual inimitable sytle, achieving a dynamic balance between charming selfishness and altruism for Tony Stark, while introducing new characters into the storyline. After the devastation of “Ultimatum,” New York is in ruins, the world economy is in the tank, and Tony Stark is down to his last hundred million. How ever will he go on? Stark is in New York to secure his lab and retrieve any important items, but finds that security has already been breached and those important items may not be in his possession anymore. Not only that, but his Iron Man tech may not be his exclusively, either. An "Ultimate" take on the classic Layton Iron Man story of the 1980's, " Armor Wars." A Minutemen scan.

Iron Man and the Armor Wars #1-4 (Of 4) Complete
Eng | RS & Hotfile | 3 CBR 1 CBZ | Marvel Comics | Aug 5 - Nov 4 2009 | 58.7 MB Total

Erstwhile leterrer Joe Caramagna gets the chance to write yet another retelling of the 1980's Layton "Armor Wars" classic for yet another miniseries in marvel's Iron Man onslaught of titles. This one is a bit different, though, since the armor spirited away by the mysterious foe all belong to Tony Stark while in the original tale only the tech was Tony's but the armor were different. A nice continuity-free miniseries that hovers somewhere in between the Marvel Adventure universe and Marvel's feature film universe.

This is not a regular comic book. It’s actually a collection of art from the special Iron Man variant covers that adorned all the major Marvel titles in honor of the motion picture Iron Man 2. It also includes little blurbs on the cover artist, the cover itself and—best of all—the art style in which the cover was done. Almost all the artwork included is beautiful, and the information given about the art style, artist and conception of the artwork, while nothing deep or earth shattering, are fun and add to the enjoyment of looking at the illustrations. For fans of Iron Man.

The last and concluding issue is set for a February 24, 2010 release.

The Invincible Iron Man is a comic book ongoing series written by Matt Fraction with art by Salvador Larroca, published by Marvel Comics and starring the superhero Iron Man. It won the 2009 Eisner Award for Best New Series. Thus far there have been 22 issues in this relatively new title, volume 5 in library terms, with the first two story arcs completed and and the third ongoing. The initial story arc, "The Five Nightmares" underscores Fraction's rehabilitation of Stark as a legitimately heroic presence in the Marvel Universe without simply setting aside the character history that has brought him to this point. Fraction's treatment of Stark's multi-faceted character is intelligent and adult, without sacrificing the sense of fun and energy that makes superhero comics thrilling to read. A heck of a great way to promote the Iron Man movie, too. The almost epic second story arc, "World's Most Wanted", closely ties in to the then ongoing Dark Reign crossover storyline. The five-part third story arc, "Stark: Disassembled" is still ongoing (currently at part 3 with issue #22) and is set to end with issue #24 due for release March 3 2010. Along with Michael J. Straczynski's Thor, perhaps the best of Marvel's current titles, with perhaps Marvel's best creative team on board. Minutemen scans, with 2 issues, likewise of high quality, scanned by Kryptonian-Avenger (DCP).

Iron Man Legacy #1-8 (Ongoing)

Iron Man is a fictional superhero who appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character debuted in Tales of Suspense #39 (March 1963), and was created by writer-editor Stan Lee, scripter Larry Lieber, and artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby. Of course we all know that. We also know that Iron Man has been featured in many ongoing series (now in Volume 5) and has been the subject of many miniseries, one-shots, specilas and too-many retcons (excluding the movies and animations). Well, Fred Van Lente (of Spider-Man fame) and artist Steve Kurth got together for an ongoing series set in continuity but taking place throughout Iron Man history: Iron Man Legacy. The series is an attempt to explain and/or shed light on certain events in the current Marvel Universe (as in the inaugural 5-part story arc, "War of the Iron Men") or takes a closer look at certain hidden chapters in the life of billionaire industrialist Tony Stark who is, as we all know, Iron Man. This is the focus of the second 6-part story arc, "Industrial Revolution." And boy! was I wrong when I first thought this was going to be a dull and uninspired seen-it-all-before series after reading the first two issues. Lente brings a fresh perspective into things while Kurth's photo-realistic style sort of grows on you. And when it's time for the battle armors and the tech weaponry to come into serious play, the artwork pops out of the pages and all you can say is, "Wow!" Believe me when I say Iron Man Legacy really does get better with each issue. All high-quality Minutemen scans.
